I have a lot of fond memories of Jim from when I was growing up and I used to love going for walks with him and Aunty Penny when they visited us. I also really enjoyed and appreciated their visits to Sheffield when they travelled up on their way to Bedale. Jim had a relaxed approach to life which I really admired. He was an excellent conversationalist who genuinely listened and cared about what you had to say. I'll remember him for his warm, friendly personality, his strong Geordie accent, firm handshake and bright smile. Jim also had a fantastic sense of humour and we used to email jokes to each other regularly. I always looked forward to getting an email from Jim as he never ceased to make me chuckle (or groan!). Will miss you Jim! As you used to say, Stay Cool!
