For the past 26 years, Jim was my uncle and I’m grateful that he was a part of my life for such a long time. Jim was an honest man, with a warm handshake, a kind smile and lots of good stories to tell. Ever sporting his classic moustache, I remember looking up to him since I was small and hoping that one day I could grow one just like him and my dad. Over the years, it was always a highlight to see Jim and Aunty Penny during the holidays and I appreciate the fact that they made a point of visiting us every time.
Jim was an avid hiker, an experienced cyclist and an excellent driver, somehow travelling with ease across France in a British car multiple times. I will fondly cherish all the country walks we went on together as well as the conversations we shared about school, the holidays, rugby (especially the six nations) and life in general. Jim will be sorely missed but as he often used to sign off in his cards, I’m sure he would’ve wanted us all to “Stay cool”! Lots of love, From Sam :)
